Proceedings of EXA05: international conference on exotic atoms and related topics

  • 1. Stefan-Meyer-Institut fuer subatomare Physik, Austrian Academy of Sciences, Boltzmanngasse 3, 1090 Vienna (Austria)

Description

This was the second conference dedicated to application of exotic atoms to study fundamental symmetries and interactions for example the test of CPT symmetry with atoms containing antiparticles, the investigation of low-energy QCD with hadronic atoms in low-lying states, the formation and spectroscopy of antihydrogen for CPT precision tests in an atomic system, kaon-nucleon interactions at the moment is the fastest developing field, deeply bound states have been predicted and first experimental evidence is presented. Contributions were organized as follows: search for dense nuclear matter, pionic and kaonic atoms, neutron and muon physics, low-energy QCD studies with antiprotons, novel instrumentation, antiprotonic atoms and antihydrogen, future facilities, facility of antiproton and ion research (FAIR) at GSI.
