Laboratory reliability test on in-core flux detector amplifier

  • 1. Electronics Department, Institute for Nuclear Research, PO Box 70, Str. Colibasi 78, R-0300 Pitesti, (Romania)

Description

The paper presents an analysis of the reliability of the In-core Flux Detector Amplifier which will be used in the Reactor Regulating System (RRS) and Shut-Down Systems (SDS) of the Unit 1 Nuclear Power Plant Cernavoda. The preliminary established reliability is predicted on the bases of the calculated mean time between failures (MTBF), obtained by computing the failures of individual components making up the channel, based on the reliability figures given in the MIL-HDBK 217 C. The assessed reliability is based on the results obtained during the operating time of 7 years in the environmental conditions of the TRIGA reactor from the Nuclear Research Institute Pitesti for a NIM Bin equipped with 12 amplifiers, which was maintained under observation.
