Installation for hydrogen sulfide from flue gases

  • 1. ROMAG-PROD, Heavy Water Plant, Calea Tg. Jiu, Km. 7, RO-1500 Drobeta Turnu Severin, Mehedinti (Romania)

Description

This equipment is to be attached to the flue gases installation operating at ROMAG PROD and is intended to recover the entire amount of the controlled technological gas discharges and so to reduce the SO2, SO3 and H2S emission in the atmosphere. A ventilator draws the flame gases and direct them into an absorption column in counter-current with a NaOH 20% solution. In this column the gas is absorbed through the reaction H2S + NaOH = NaHS + H2O. At a 18% NaHS concentration the solution gets saturated. This saturated solution is transferred in the storage recipients or in the CF tank to be transported to the H2S fabrication facility of the plant. The blowing carrier nitrogen is released at the top end of the absorption column and enters the areas of operational or emergency flames as is the case. The installation is automated and can be by-passed any time
