Underground NPP of mean and low power on the basis of ship nuclear technologies

Description

The principles of creating underground NPPs, melting higher requirements of nuclear and radiation safety, are described. The proposed NPP with the Pb-Bi-cooled fast neutron reactor is characterized by inherent self-protection, excluding origination of radiation-hazardous incidents. The experience of creation and operation of the reactors with the Pb-Bi coolant, accumulated by their application on submarines, may be used by developing such a NPP

Abstract (Russian)

Описаны принципы построения подземных АЭС, соответствующих более высоким требованиям ядерной и радиационной безопасности. Предлагаемая АЭС с реактором на быстрых нейтронах, охлаждаемым Pb-Bi теплоносителем, обладает внутренней самозащищенностью, исключающей возникновение радиационно опасных аварий. При разработке такой АЭС может быть использован опыт создания и эксплуатации реакторов на Pb-Bi теплоносителе, накопленный при их использовании на атомных подводных лодках
