Alpha accompanied cold ternary fission of 252Cf using Coulomb and proximity potential
- 1. School of Pure and Applied Physics, Kannur University, Payyanur (India)
Description
Alvarez et al. discovered the ternary fission with 4He as light charged particle in 1947. Most of the ternary fission process involve with the emission of long range alpha particle which occur in about one in 500 spontaneous fission events. The ternary fission of 252Cf and 4He as light charged particle in equatorial configuration is studied using the concept of cold valley which was introduced in relation to the structure of minima in the so called driving potential
