Description

Generation IV International Forum (GIF) has produced a vision for the research and development of a new generation of reactors aimed to meet the new requirements of the global economic development. The heavy-liquid metal technologies are envisaged to develop two system of Gen IV: SFR (Sodium Fast Reactors) and LFR (Lead Fast Reactors), the last one based on pure lead or lead-bismuth eutectic. The paper presents some experimental activities on the heavy liquid metal thermal-hydraulic, with a focus on the functional parameters in the monitoring systems of the installations. Also, the paper presents the LEad COrrosion TEst LOop (LECOTELO) installation, designed and developed in Institute for Nuclear Research (INR) Pitesti, with a focus on the monitoring and control systems. The status of the development as well as some results obtained during the tests are included in the paper. (author).
