Description
The experimental discovery and the theoretical implications of the rising total cross sections are discussed. The main features of the elastic proton-proton scattering are described. The successful achievements and the limitations of the Regge description of the charge exchange reactions are reviewed. The experimental and theoretical studies of the production of jets and of particles with high transversal momentum are summarized. (P.L.)
