Synthesis of amine functionalized graphene oxide and its application as supercapacitor

Description
Present research is the synthesis of graphene oxide (GO) and amine functionalized graphene oxide (amine-GOs). The synthesis of graphene oxide is being carried out by three different methods i.e improved method, hammers method and modified hammers method. Modified hammers method is found to be most reliable. The final product obtained by modified hammars method is filtered and purified by glass micro fibre filter via centred glass crucible filtration assembly and washed in succession with 200 ml of water, 200 ml of 30% HCl, and 200 ml of ethanol respectively. The functionalization of the purified graphene oxide with aromatic amines i.e o-phenylenediamine (GO-o-PDM) has been synthesized through ultrasonication method for about 30 min with on/off pulse rate of 10/5 second. The synthesized final material has been purified, characterized and confirm by XRD and FT-IR technique. Through the cyclic voltammetry study, the presence of covalent intercalation, material exhibits the better specific capacitance of 276 F g-1 at a specific current density of 1 A g-1 in 1 M H2SO4.
