Optimization of the enrichment of middle components by thermal diffusion demonstrated by the example of 85Kr. 2

Description
Formulation, further preparation, and approximate solution of cascade optimization problems are discussed. The enrichment of the middle component krypton 85 from fission Krypton has been chosen as an example. Variants of cascade connection and profiling are compared. The solution is based on a combination of analytical and numerical methods using the computer programme described in part I for calculating the concentration profile. The most important practical result is an estimate of the minimum expense necessary for performing the separation. (author)
