The current state of atomic energy in Ukraine
Description
The importance of nuclear power within the electricity generation in Lithuania is emphasized in this paper. Current problems being faced by the country regarding further development of this type of electricity generation are reviewed with emphasis on problems related to maintaining trained personnel for research, design, supervision of construction and operation of nuclear power plants under the new economic conditions of the country. The impact of the Chernobyl accident on the safety operation practices of the existing NPP in the country is briefly discussed. (author). 4 figs
