Pseudocapacitive electrode performance of zinc oxide decorated reduced graphene oxide/poly (1,8- diaminonaphthalene) composite

Description

Development of Reduced graphene oxide/Zinc oxide/poly(1,8-diaminonaphthalene) (rGO/ZnO/PDAN) composite and its supercapacitor performance has been evaluated. Analytical measurements such as FTIR, powder XRD, Raman, SEM and TGA was declared the functional, crystal and morphological structures along with thermal stability of the polymer impregnated composite. The SEM images described the random decoration of irregular shaped ZnO in between the wrinkled GO sheets and the PDAN. The gained specific capacitance value for the rGO/ZnO/PDAN composite modified NF electrode in 3M KOH is 239 F/g at the current density of 0.5 A/g with 94.3% capacitance retained after 2500 cycles. The rGO/ZnO/PDAN composite based solid-state symmetrical supercapacitor device exhibits the specific capacity (40 @ 0.6 A/g), energy density (12.66 Wh/kg) and power density (993 W/kg). These studies create the greater influence towards the development of novel supercapacitor electrodes. (author)
