Design and fabrication of RF cavity for SRS facility
- 1. Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore (India)
Description
This report describes the mechanical design and fabrication of the RF cavity for the booster synchrotron of the SRS facility. The resonant frequency of the cavity is 31.613 MHz and the construction is of capacitive loaded re-entrant drift tube type. Material of construction of the cavity is aluminium alloy AA 6061. Rigidity of the structure, cooling and vacuum requirements are discussed. Fabrication of the cavity was done in Centre for Advanced Technology (CAT) workshop using gas tungsten arc (GTA) welding process. (author). 1 fig
