Description
The aim is to calculate the 3n ER cross-sections at ECN= 29.2 MeV and 34.4 MeV in the reaction 249Cf+48Ca → 297118, using two different versions of proximity potential (Prox 1977 and Prox 2000), having different isospin and asymmetry dependent parameters. So-far the DCM is applied in SHE region for use of Prox 1977 only. First of all, the work has tried to fit the 3n ER cross-sections, using spherical fragmentations in DCM at both Ec.m.= 204.53 MeV and 209.86 MeV, but, the measured σ3n could not be achieved for any reasonable value of neck length parameter ΔR, which seem to suggest that deformation effects are indispensable in the context of chosen reaction. Including quadrupole deformation (β2i), together with 'optimum' orientations θopti, the DCM calculated σ3n, using both Prox 1977 and Prox 2000 find a nice comparison with the experimental data. Interestingly, It is found that structure of the preformation probability remains the same for the use of different proximity potentials; only the magnitude varies. The difference between the two approaches lies in the fact that higher value of lmax and the corresponding lower value of ΔR is required to fit the 3n cross-sections with the use of Prox 2000 as compared to Prox 1977. Concluding, the choice of nuclear proximity interaction and deformation effects of decaying fragments impart significant influence on the particle evaporation in SHE region
