Determination of some rare earth elements in alkali and alkaline earth matrices by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES)

Description

A group of five rare earth elements (REEs) Ce, Nd, Gd, Dy and Eu have been investigated with a view to establish a direct procedure for their estimation without pre-separation or concentration. Different spectral lines of these elements were scanned for spectral interferences of the remaining thirteen REEs. Interference free spectral of Na, K, Ca, Mg, Al, Ti and Fe which may constitute a composite matrix in geological samples were also studied. These REEs were determined in different synthetic mixtures using the established procedures. (author)
