Description
The procedures in use in nuclear medicine and the radiation hazards they entail are described. Radiation protection measures including design and layout of facilities and equipment, radiation monitoring and education, and safe working practices are discussed. The radiation protection needed the use of iodine 131 as a therapeutic agent is mentioned separately.
