The Fourth International Conference on Solid State Crystals and Seventh Polish Conference on Crystal Growth was held in Zakopane 16-20 May 2004. The aim of the conference was to provide an interdisciplinary forum for scientists and engineers for an exchange of investigation results and experience in current achievements in growth of bulk crystals and nanostructures for application in opto- and electronic technology. The following topics were covered: crystal growth, characterization and applications of solid state materials, nanostructured materials and films and opto- and microelectronic devices
