Description

According to the geological setting and evolution, it is probable that uranium occurrences may exist in certain areas of the Indonesian Archipelagoes. Almost 75% of these areas have already been covered by general exploration, some of which included detailed and systematic prospecting. Most of the exploration activities have been carried out by the National Atomic Energy Agency (BATAN) and some investigations have been made in co-operation with France, the Federal Republic of Germany and Japan. BATAN's exploration programme included geological, cartographical, geophysical, geochemical and mineralogical studies. (author). 4 figs, 4 tabs
