Uranium deposits in Asia and the Pacific: Geology and exploration

Description

At present, there is a lack of comprehensive information on the geology of uranium deposits and the exploration activities in Asia. As future deposits in Asia are likely to be similar to those already found in the region, it is essential that efforts be made to gather relevant information on exploration techniques that are more appropriate for specific geological and climatic conditions. Therefore, the International Atomic Energy Agency convened a meeting with the purpose of bringing together economic and exploration geologists from the region to share, exchange and disseminate information and to discuss and make recommendations on those topics on which additional work is needed. Twenty-three technical papers were presented and two ad-hoc Working Groups prepared reports on Uranium Provinces and Criteria for Favourability and Exploration Techniques. The papers presented and the findings of the Working Groups are included in the Proceedings. Refs, figs and tabs
