Description

In order to develop more efficient, higher power nuclear lasers, it is important to examine the lasing excitation mechanisms of present nuclear lasers. Insight gained from these present laser systems will enable us to determine the major excitation mechanisms and then look for new gaseous laser systems where these excitation mechanisms dominate. In this paper we will concentrate on the volumetric nuclear discharges pumped by either the 3He(n,p)3H reaction, or the 235UF6(n,ff)FF reaction, which may lead to laser pumping
