Description
Corrosion of metals and consequent failures of based members, leading to structural and financial losses, wastage of resources, and even loss of precious human life, is an age-old problem. Therefore, developing efficient anticorrosion strategies for protecting buildings, ships, bridges, railways, automobiles and most recently electronic items and solar panel mounting structures, especially in coastal areas and marine environment, has become a global concern. Herein, we have developed polyaniline (PANI)/graphene-oxide based anticorrosion pigments possessing electrical conductivity and electro-activity, and demonstrated their promising potential for anticorrosion systems even under highly aggressive conditions (3% NaCl or 2.5 % HCl).
