Adaptation of the shipping cask TUK-108/1 for transportation of fuel assemblies from liquid metal-cooled reactors. Agenda item 2.2 (Presentation in English)
Description
The paper and presentation by Alexander Pimenov from Rosatom (Russia) deal with the project proposal for adaptation of the existing SNF shipping cask TUK-108/1 for transportation of fuel assemblies from the liquid metal-cooled reactor (Alpha 900) of a Russian submarine. This reactor is stored at the Gremikha Bay (North West Russia). Described is the equipment to be manufactured, and the scheme of SNF loading into the casks. The US is planning to assist with both the modification and transport of five modified TUK 108 casks with Alpha 900's recovered fuel.
