sup(99m)technitium-unithiol complex, a new pharmaceutical for kidney scintigraphy

The investigations were carried out with a newly synthesised, original sup(99m)Tc-unithiol complex (unithiol-2,3-dimercaptopropansulphonate). It accumulates in the kidneys and enables their scintigraphic examination at 90-180 minutes after the administration. The study was performed on rats, rabbits and dogs. sup(99m)Tc-unithiol complex accumulation in rat kidneys was 34,9%, 44,5% and 67,8% of dose after 1, 2 and 3 h respectively. Good reability of the scintigraphic picture of the kidneys in rabbits and dogs confirms the accumulative capability of the complex in these organs. It was found by means of ascending paper chromatography that the purity of the sup(99m)Tc-unithiol complex exceeded 90%. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Die Untersuchungen wurden mit Hilfe eines neu synthetisierten Original sup(99m)Tc-Unithiol-Komplexes (Unithiol-2,3-Dimercaptopropanosulphonat) durchgefuehrt. Dieser wird in den Nieren gespeichert und ermoeglicht deren Szintigraphische Untersuchung 90 bis 180 Minuten nach der Gabe. Die Studie wurde an Ratten, Kaninchen und Hunden vorgenommen. Die sup(99m)Tc-Unithiol-Komplex-Speicherung in Rattennieren betrug 34,9%, 44,5% und 67,8% der verabreichten Dosis nach 1, 2 bzw. 3 Stunden. Die gute Szintigrammwiedergabe der Nieren bei Kaninchen und Hunden bestaetigt die Speicherfaehigkeit dieses Komplexes in diesen Organen. Mit Hilfe der Papierchromatographie wurde festgestellt, dass die Reinheit des sup(99m)Tc-Unithiol-Komplexes 90% ueberstieg. (orig.)Additional details
