Synthesis and properties of the heaviest nuclei

  • 1. Institute for Nuclear Studies, Otwock-Swierk (Poland)

Description

The scope of the present paper is to give a short review of recent theoretical results for the properties of the heaviest nuclei. The properties are mainly: the spontaneous-fission, Tsf and alpha-decay, Tα, half-lives. However, such quantities like the shell correction to the energy (mass) of a nucleus, δEsh, the fission barrier, Ef, and alpha-decay energy, Qα are also discussed. Even-even nuclei are considered. 13 refs., 7 figs. (author)
