Code on the safety of nuclear power plant siting
Creators
Description
The Code was authorized by the State Council and promulgated by the National Nuclear Safety Administration on July 27, 1991, which shall be fulfilled relating to the safety of siting for land-based stationary thermal neutron power plant. The purpose of the Code is to give criteria and procedures to be applied as appropriate operational state and accident states, including those which could lead to emergency measures, for the development of basic requirements for: 1. Defining the extent of information to be presented by the applicant for a proposed site; 2. Evaluating a proposed site to ensure that the site-related phenomena and characteristics are adequately taken into account; 3. Analysing the population characteristics of the region and the capability of implementing emergency plans throughout the projected lifetime of the plant; 4. Defining site related design basis; 5. Defining the role of the applicant for site evaluation; 6. Defining the role of the national regulatory body for site evaluation. This Code is mainly concerned with severe events of low probability which relate to the siting of nuclear power plants and have to be considered in designing a particular nuclear power plants
