Regional proliferation: Issues and challenges

Creators

Description

There is now less interest in issues relating to control of sensitive nuclear and missile technologies, and more interest in finding ways to manage the South Asian nuclear arms race through a regional verification scheme. This chapter forecasts the nuclear landscape of South Asia over the next decade, focusing on the expanding nuclear programs of India and Pakistan. Based on this future outlook, political aspects of nonproliferation, incentives for regional verification, and models of verification schemes are presented
