3rd workshop on higher luminosity B factories

Description

This workshop was held at Shonan Village Center in Hayama on August 6 and 7 in 2002 to discuss B physics at higher luminosity B factories. Recently Belle at KEKB and BaBar at PEP-II observed the large CP violation in neutral B meson system, and gave an experimental confirmation of Kobayashi-Maskawa model of CP violation. These experiments, at the same time, demonstrated that more precise test of the KM scheme and search for unknown sources of the CP violation would be feasible at e+e- B factory. To this end, the machines have to be upgraded to the ones having more than 10 times higher luminosity, i.e., 1035-1036, which require substantial increase of the beam current and better understanding of the beam dynamics, as well as the detector that is robust against high beam background. The 18 of the presented papers are indexed individually. (J.P.N.)
