Description
This conference proceedings of 20 lectures presented at the Swedish Radiation Protection Institute. The conference was divided into 5 sessions which treated of the appliance of short term countermeasures after a nuclear accident. A study the different aspects of the subject was carried out which are summarised in the document. As a matter of fact, the document tackled the issues of the criteria, the practice and the medical aspects, as well as the effectiveness and the risks of the different countermeasures. Finally, there was a presentation of various strategies and their implementation in several countries. Separate abstracts were prepared for all the papers of this volume. (TEC)
