Radiation protection on the threshold of the 21 Century

Radiation protection is currently going through a period of evaluation and debate in several different fields. One major milestone is the recent publication of the new recommendations of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP). The elements of novelty contained in the recommendations and other recent scientific and technical developments led the NEA Committee on Radiation Protection and Public Health to organize a workshop to review the current status of radiation protection and its perspectives as we approach the year 2000. These proceedings include the papers presented at the meeting and a summary of the conclusions and recommendations that emerged from the discussion. (author)
